Group Sales Manager - Stewart Lebentz
Starting out as a trainee salesman, Stewart has since graduated through Vauxhall College, worked his way up the chain and now has a total of 23 years Vauxhall experience.
Stewart’s determination and competitive nature has just helped him to complete the 60 miles, London to Cambridge bike ride in an impressive 3 hours and 10 minutes.

Mark has reached a Gold level in his Vauxhall training and has developed his enthusiasm for fast cars into a skill at work by becoming Cambridge’s VXR specialist.

Murketts Vauxhall salesman Chris Squires knows more about Vauxhalls than anyone you’re likely to meet. He has after all, been selling them for twenty years. Twenty years this month in fact….
Cast your mind back twenty years. What were you doing back in 1991? Chris Squires was just starting work at Murketts Vauxhall, Cambridge’s premier dealership for the Griffin brand. The showrooms were still in the same place – at 137 Histon Road – but the cars inside were of course very different. Well this month, Chris is marking no fewer than twenty years of selling them. And in an industry where loyalty of that kind is unusual, that’s certainly something worth celebrating.
Drop by the sales department at Murketts today and he’ll happily remember what the showroom was full of two decades ago. The Calibra coupe had just been launched, a great-looking two-door sportscar based on the Cavalier, the forerunner to the Vectra that would take on Ford’s Mondeo at the turn of the century. If you were on a bit more of a budget back in the early Nineties and wanted a new car, then Chris might have guided you into a Vauxhall Nova supermini, just coming to the end of a production run that would end in 1993 when it was replaced by the little Corsa we know and love today. If you wanted something a little larger than that, then Chris would have wheeled out an Astra family hatchback, a car that back then was fighting the ubiquitous Ford Escort for volume sales in the UK. And you could have a 4WD model back in 1991. Vauxhall were just launching the Frontera in an early attempt to capitalise on what would be a fast growing market. And for executives? Well, there was the large, comfy Senator, a car that would be replaced by the Car of the Year-winning Omega saloon in 1994.
So a lot was going on for Chris and his sales colleagues back in 1991. And the following years would bring even more excitement across the Vauxhall line-up. The Vectra would replace the Cavalier in 1995, around the same time that the Corsa supermini would spawn a sporty coupe version, the Tigra. By 1999, Vauxhall had joined the mini-MPV market with the innovative 7-seater Zafira, sitting below their larger Sintra model. Of these two, only the Zafira survives today, just about to enter third generation guise in Zafira Tourer form, a car likely to be seen at the Histon Road dealership early next year.
In fact, there’s plenty of new model news at Murketts Vauxhall right now, more in fact than Chris Squires can remember in twenty years of selling these exciting cars. The big news soon will be the arrival of the Astra GTC coupe, a great-looking back affordable sporty car. Next year, Vauxhall will even offer an electric option with the innovative Ampera. This car will take running costs to a new low, but more conventional Vauxhall models are already doing that. Chris and the sales team can guide you through just how little ecoFLEX versions of the recently improved Corsa supermini, the Meriva mini-MPV and Astra family hatch will cost to run. Even the medium range Insignia manages to return and surprisingly frugal set of figures. Elsewhere in the range, the Antara SUV has recently been much improved on this front too – as well as being made more luxurious.

Having spent the last 18 years at Murketts Chris is 100% dedicated to his role and his customers. Chris is the Motability specialist at the Cambridge branch.

Chris originally joined Murketts in 1988 and worked at the Cambridge branch doing fleet and business development for 6 years.
After a short break Chris rejoined Murketts in 2002 and has been the Sales controller at Murketts of Stapleford for the last 7 years.
Chris prides himself on being a local man and always strives to find the best deal for his customers, weather it be in the showroom or down at the local pub over a pint.

Starting with the group as an apprentice in the mid 70’s, Trevor worked his way up through the company and now controls both Parts and Service at the core site here at Cambridge, Histon Road. He is passionate about quality of service, team success, customer retention and adopts a strong “Lead from the Front” management style.
In his spare time Trevor is a keen match fisherman, Real Ale enthusiast and confessed “twitcher”.
